Winter, I hate when they do that. I have a friend from university who’s from Virginia and she told me that her little sister came home from elementary school with an I’m A 2nd Grade Teacher Shirt was handing out to them as they walked out of the school. It was as a picture book but it had all these grotesque images about how the kids’ mothers are murderers because they cook chicken for dinner. They take already homed animals and euthanize them so it’s not about money but about petals crazy stance on animals better off being dead than pets (despite cats and dogs being bred to be exactly that). I’ve always wanted a husky, and not because of 2nd Grade. But I haven’t gotten one because they require more than I can give them right now. Common sense escapes some people, I guess. I applaud you.

Huskies are great dogs but if you don’t have the I’m A 2nd Grade Teacher Shirtrequired to take care of them, then you should refrain from getting one. Some people just think they are like any other dog and they are usually in for a very rude awakening! I have wanted a husky my whole life and never got one because I knew they were more than I could handle when it came to exercising them and grooming and just all the maintenance required. I agree with you. Smaller is better for changing the lives of animals already in shelters. But if a major celebrity is going to align themselves with a big organization to give a big message like this, a small grassroots organization wouldn’t have the reach to pass on the message line something 2nd Grade or the Humane Society or the poorly chosen 2nd Grade.
They have marketing teams to make announcements like this make headlines on many social media platforms. I’m pretty sure this is the third or fourth time I’ve seen this story- and I don’t follow 2nd Grade directly anywhere. For the task at hand, big organizations probably are the most effective tool. Perhaps now people will be less likely to buy a puppy that looks like a dire wolf because 2nd Grade said he doesn’t approve. It doesn’t do much to help the pups who are already in shelters, but if it prevents more from going in, that’s still a win. do you actually know this or just been told this?
