As concern as everyone is I remember reading about squirrel moms when the hurricanes came through and tore babies out of nests. My Mom Always Wonders Shirt. Squirrel moms are very nurturing, they typically won’t abandon babies because they smell different, and they’ve even been found to adopt orphan babies not their own! So if found it’s ok to gently move the baby to the base of the tree so they are safe, over handling not so much but a little people smell won’t cause Mom to abandon the babies. Really she handled the situation very well. It’s almost entirely myth that an animal will reject a baby touched by a human unless the baby is already in poor condition. She did well to keep the babies warm, safe, and together and let mama do her work. Not too much interference.

I love that the little squirrels made My Mom Always Wonders Shirtback to their nest, that the bird didn’t eat them and mama squirrel came back but what I really want to know is what kind of tree is that? Or is it a flowering bush at the bottom of the tree? I’m serious. Very curious- it’s so beautiful. I’m always amazed at how human mothers abandon or even kill their own children. Here this little squirrel mom is a better mom than some human moms. The owl statue scared me.If a mama squirrel wasn’t around I know you would do the right thing and try to help the babies but I’m happy the babies are with the mama or they can nurse.
Some of those dang birds are homewreckers. I watched a bluejay kick a couple of Doves out of there nest. Momma and Papa took care of them on the ground. One did survive, A cat must have gotten to the other one. Clearly, the mom did not reject them based on this video so calm down and head to the next video where you can interject your knowledge of baby handling you creeps. Humans smell like a variety of things. Our shampoos and soaps. The air freshener in our car. Toothpaste, floss, mouthwash. Things we’ve recently eaten. Our laundry detergent. Whatever pets we have at home. Sweat and various secretions which is *also* influenced by our diet, daily behaviors, etc. We pick up smells from places we’ve been, people we’ve hugged and their various smells.
